Last August, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), together with relevant parties, has revised and formed the draft of “Measures for the Review of Energy Conservation of Fixed Asset Investment Projects (Draft for Soliciting Opinions)” on the basis of in-depth research and extensive consultation.
The “measure” aims to establish a new mechanism for the comprehensive transformation of energy consumption control to carbon emissions control, strengthen the management of energy consumption and carbon emissions of fixed asset investment projects, promote energy conservation and energy efficiency improvement, and actively and steadily promote carbon neutrality and carbon peaking.
To address these issues, industries, cities and even individual companies are urged to adopt more efficient, low-carbon solutions while exploring green energy sources like solar, wind, and hydrogen.
Additionally, fluctuating electricity prices, driven by market reforms and energy shortages, add complexity to operational costs, making energy efficiency critical for businesses.
