China’s Energy Storage Market General Review and Expectation

2023年,中国国家能源局和国家发改委多次联合发布了6份与储能行业直接相关的文件,对储能市场的规划、市场交易和未来发展方向,给出了明确的引导。具体发布文件如下:
In 2023, China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) and National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) jointly released six documents directly related to the energy storage industry on several occasions, giving clear guidance on the planning, market transaction rules, and future development of the energy storage market. The specific documents released are listed below:

根据国际能源署(IEA)的数据显示,截至2022年底,全球已投运储能项目累计装机容量达到237.2GW,同比增长13%,其中全球新增投运电力储能项目装机规模27.8GW,同比增长52%;中国累计储能装机量达到59.4GW,同比增长37%,约占全球比重的25%,较前一年上升4个百分点,其中2022年新增装机16.1GW,同比高增109%,中国国内储能行业发展极为迅速。
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) data show that by the end of 2022, the global cumulative installed capacity of commissioned energy storage projects reached 237.2GW, an increase of 13% year-on-year, of which the global newly commissioned power storage projects installed capacity of 27.8GW, an increase of 52%; China’s cumulative installed capacity of energy storage reached 59.4GW, an increase of 37% year-on-year, accounting for 25% of the global proportion, up 4 percentage points from the previous year. 根据中关村储能产业技术联盟(CNESA)的不完全统计,截至2023年9月底,中国已投运电力储能项目累计装机规模75.2GW,同比增长50%,2023年前三季度,新增投运电力储能项目装机规模15.8GW,同比增加74%,2024年储能行业将在各地开始落实低碳转型阶段,发挥重要作用。
Statistics from China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) show that at the end of September 2023, the cumulative installed capacity of China’s commissioned electric power storage projects was 75.2GW, a year-on-year increase of 50%, and in the first three quarters of 2023, the newly commissioned electric power storage projects had an installed capacity of 15.8GW, a year-on-year increase of 74%, and the energy storage industry will begin to implement the low-carbon transition in all over China.

数据统计显示,2022年全球新型储能累计装机规模45.7GW,同比大幅增长80%,新增装机规模为20.4GW;国内新型储能累计装机规模13.08GW,同比大增128%,新增投运规模7.3GW,占全球市场规模的35.8%,全球居首。2023年前三季度,中国新增投运新型储能项目装机规模12.3GW,新增规划、在建新型储能项目规模102.8GW,由于大多数项目的投产期集中在四季度,预计2023年底装机规模会有大幅提升。
Meanwhile, data shows that in 2022, the global cumulative installed capacity of new energy storage reached 45.7GW, a sharp increase of 80% year-on-year, the new installed capacity is 20.4GW; China’s cumulative installed capacity of new energy storage reached 13.08GW, a huge increase of 128% year-on-year, the new commissioned capacity of 7.3GW, accounting for 35.8% of the global market capacity. In the first three quarters of 2023, the capacity of China’s new energy storage projects in operation reached 12.3 GW, while the capacity of new planned and under-construction energy storage projects was 102.8 GW.
