Recently the World Economic Forum (WEF) released a Guidebook which offers guidance to help investment authorities work with the private sector on facilitating climate foreign direct Investment.

IPAs can play a vital role in promoting climate FDIs and they should prioritize climate investment strategies and cooperate with stakeholders.

The WEF guidebook highlights the urgent need for IPAs to prioritize climate investment strategy formation, engage in capacity-building, and cooperate with stakeholders to increase climate FDI. In meantime, collaborative efforts at national and international levels are necessary for a supportive regulatory regime to grow climate FDI flows promptly.
Other proposed actions are a coalition of IPAs for Climate (CIPAC) could facilitate peer-learning and the creation of a supplier database and promoting Investment Project Opportunities (IPROs) as essential measures.

They can provide advisory to the authorities to actively participate in the increasing number of multinational climate commitments and attract investments. Additionally, CNEUCN can devise strategies to address and mitigate potential risks that IPAs might face while promoting foreign direct investments in climate-related initiatives.
